Customer ratings and reviews for HP Scanjet G4050 Photo Scanner

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Scanner I have purchased this scanner, over 6 months ago, and my dad has been using it to scan old 33 mm films, and its just as fantastic with scanning colour photographs and documents. No problems, and very stable. Scan quality is amazing. Highly recommended. It exceeded my expectations. February 4, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works as described Did a nice job of scanning over 1,000 slides. Only negative is that it takes a while - a couple of days to run them all through. Quality was better than I expected but not at a professional level. January 5, 2010
Rated 1 out of 5 by HP Scanjet G4050 This is the worst scanner I've had in 10 years. The software is garbage and the scanner is soo slow. October 19, 2009
Rated 4 out of 5 by Versatile and easy I have had a good experience with this scanner, scanning original artwork, negatives and photos. I haven't tried slides yet. I use it as my copier as well. I'm getting superb, accurate scans of the artwork; larger works obviously have to be done in several passes, then merged together with other software, but the color reproduction is great. The only problem I've had is that the current version of the copying software shuts down after three or four pages, but I haven't taken the time to look for an update yet. September 2, 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing machine I am THRILLED with this scanner. I just finished scanning over 1000 slides- some over 50 years old- but the resolution was incredible. Yes it took 45 minutes to scan 16 slides in order to get the highest resolution possible. The software is so easy to use- my only confusion when I downloaded the software was that I needed to download the Vista version instead of the XP version. Once I got it loaded correctly- I was thrilled with the results. I have no regrets having purchased this machine and would recommend it to anyone. June 8, 2009
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst HP product I've ever had! Software will not work. Scanner does not scan color slides at all. That's the main reason that I bought it. What a big disappointment! May 19, 2009
