Wife wanted a new wireless printer, so I started looking around. Having had HP printers in the past I thought I couldn't go wrong. The first one I bought was the 5525, only after getting it home did I find out that I could not remove the print head for cleaning. So back to the store I went. After talking to a few people that knew nothing about what they were selling, I decided on the 5530. Mainly because I popped open one on display and looked to see if the print head would come out. The print heads are part of the ink tank, so you get fresh heads every time you put in a new tank.
Reading the box it sounds like you have found printer heaven. Lots of neat features for a little money. It IS a wireless printer and works well at doing just that, but don't expect to print from your older android devise without paying for an app to do so. If you want to scan, you have image and PDF file formats. This is fine until you want to scan text as an image that has a header logo. All you will get is the logo. The next thing I noticed was that if you are scanning something that has to be spot on for scale, such as a sectional chart, or map, forget it. It will print off scale just enough to make things difficult.
Last but not least, it scans uneven!! While trying to scan and print a form I noticed that it kept coming out crooked. No matter how I tried I couldn't get it to come out straight.
As we have had the printer too long now to take it back, we will keep it and use it for those things that don't matter and consider it a lesson learned. After all, it does print nicely, things you have not scanned with it.
Lots of features, yes. Quality? NO.

I have been a HP customer/supporter for a number of years now. My last printer finally bit the dust, so to speak, after it had been used heavily for a number of years. I checked HP first, of course, but also checked the other major companies, just to see, but of course returned to HP in half a heartbeat. They were/are selling one in my price range that does everything that I would need it to do and more. It is the HP ENVY 5530 e- All-in -One Printer. It scans, copies, prints, (on both sides of the paper, mind you) and prints photos with NO BORDER. Send this same pic to a photog shop, and our quality will be at least the same quality, if not better than the so-called pros; and with a tiny % of the price, btw. The unit was sent to me with a generous set of paper, but at ~1/2 size. They print amazingly well, but I can't wait to print with one of their 8.5x11 sheets. They are top of the line, and generously priced. I purchased a number of printing sheets that I used with my last HP printer, and can't wait to use this one. It's just about time for short shirt time, so I can't wait to see how my ENVY does.
I'm sure that you are just about tired of reading from me, so just two more important things. The smartphone and the tablet. These can be the most important things in the unit. From the smartphone you can send important pictures and also important messages. From the tablet, much more.

From the ease of ordering to the fast delivery, then quick setup in less than 10 mins, I'm completely happy with the Envy 5530! It works properly everytime without fail. I easily print from anywhere on my wifi network, including from my smartphone. HP eprint is an added bonus that allows remote printing from anywhere with an internet connection. Great size & print quality. Very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Gardengirl Very nice printer
I brought the Envy 5530 printer to replace a HP Photosmart C5180. The picture quality of the Envy is much better then the Photosmart. It was easy to setup and connect and I had it running in no time. Both my laptop and desktop (both HP's) connected easily to the printer. The black text printing is extremely clear and sharp. I signed up for the Instant Ink program which seems quite economical and convenient. My only complaint is the lack of a separate photo drawer and the flimsy holder of pages after they have been printed. The double sided printing is quite nice and rather amazing. That feature can save money spent on paper and I won't have to reinsert the pages in order to print the second side. I would definitely recommend this printer.
