Customer ratings and reviews for HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lacks good directions I really do not recommend this printer. They do not give you simple instructions. My old printer was very easy to use with it's instructions. April 14, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Wish it didn't have the glitches The machine looks great and has lots of good features. Easy to set up, but I had trouble almost immediately. When I went to print multiple pages, it would stop printing after a few pages and didn't finish the job. I need to be able to print multiple pages. After spending time with tech support, we loaded a "different" printer that I guess has different drivers. It worked, so that was good. My latest glitch came today when I printed a ~10 page doc. The printer "hiccupped" on the last page and then proceeded to reprint the entire 10-page doc! If it had stopped, I would have reprinted only the 1 incomplete page. I checked and I had only specified 1 copy, so that was very weird. Never seen a printer do that. Tech support can't tell me if it is the printer or my laptop. OK. The problem with this is that I have subscribed to the auto-ship e-ink monthly program that monitors pages printed and will charge extra if you go over your plan. Kind of like minutes with your cell phone. I have been left hoping it won't do this again. Otherwise the printer seems to be great. Since I've only had this printer for a couple of weeks, I am still unsure if I would recommend based on these issues. Too bad I already did before the problems emerged. April 9, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by good product this product has good performance. I wish setup instructions were in writing instead of figuring out how to decipher pictures. April 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quick and easy installation Very surprised and greatful the 5530 printer was so easy to install. Absolutely no problems. Only issue I would raise is that if you did not have a computer vs. an IP you would be unable to install. Luck for me I had an old computer I was able to install the software program. Great little machine that does everything it is suppose to do with great color. Shipping was great, received printer 2 days from order. Very surprised being so quick. Highly recommend this euipment. Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Printer, but Not Always Convenient The ENVY basically works fine, reasonable speed, good price. Duplex printing is pretty easy. It's nice that the ENVY can either be wireless or wired. BUT, we have two ENVYs in our house, and when I tried to connect my PC to the new ENVY as wireless, it connected to the other ENVY downstairs. Didn't offer me a choice of which ENVY to link to. So I'm using the new one wired only. Also, IMHO, envelope printing is a serious pain. You have to pull out the paper tray, remove the paper, insert the envelopes and adjust the guides, push the paper tray back in, print the envelope, and then reverse the whole process to return to regular printing again. My old HP allowed you to just slide an envelope in on top of the paper in the tray, flush right, and it worked perfectly. Sure don't see how the new way of doing things is an improvement! March 31, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good printer decent price I Cloud Print capable but not without it's share of difficulty. All set up and ready to go but nothing printing. Finally I figured it out that you must go through emailing document/picture to the printer via hpprint.com. To scan document same but to your direct email. I bought it as the ink was reasonably priced compared to the competition with I Cloud print able. The marriage of Chrome OS and HP should be better explained as CD is meaningless as is the manual. At first is was easier sending document to Fed Ex printing services that with code easy as pick up at any of their stores. I hope this helps. Wireless printing not yet-still to be discovered but email printing that it does. they really don't offer much customer service to help the novice along. Good luck best wishes. Regarding print jobs good quality. March 28, 2014
