Rated 5 out of 5Â by Trailhiker Very Good Computer - Met Expectations
Purchased (2) HP ENVY Phoenix 810qe Desktop computers with the same configuration for family home use. Both computers were delivered ahead of projected delivery date and functioned with absolutely no problem. Computers have been in use for 3 weeks and have taken advantage of the best features of the Windows 8.1 Start Tiles screen and Desktop. Easily customized the Windows Start Tiles and Desktop for my specific applications and eliminated unwanted Tiles and Icons. Experienced minimal issues with Windows 8.1 as it been stable with the applications I use. Multimedia applications perform quickly as would be expected from this level of computer. Overall the computers are much quieter than the previous computers these replaced. These 2 computers met the level of quality expected from HP. Based on my experience, I would recommend this particular HP computer model.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by JohnHGA Fantastic value with room to grow
I was looking for a sub-$1000 PC with a good base performance for gaming with potential for expansion. After some previous bad experience, I had sort of sworn off HP, but I gave them another chance with this one. End result: I am hugely impressed me with Envy's bang for buck.
Pros: 600 watt power supply, really fast processor (4790!), acceptable basic graphics card (GF745), lightweight, generous HD space, not "whisper quiet" but I wouldn't call it noisy. Three free PCI-e slots, although if you upgrade to a wider graphics card, you'll sacrifice one. I didn't really want baked-in wifi or Bluetooth, but they're there, and they work very well.
Just OK: The usual HP bloatware, but this is easy to remove. Cheap-feeling but functional keyboard and mouse.
Cons: Goofy lighting scheme and "l33t g4m3r!" case design, but then I'm old-fashioned. Beats audio (useless add-on that makes everything sound worse).
Now that I've got everything running the way I want it, I'm very happy with my purchase. The true test was Arma 3, which runs nicely on high settings.
I'd recommend this build.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by takeel Really fast machine
Wel it's been awhile since I bought a new computer,I have an aging xp system from 2002 which is still running but I needed something new and that would run the latest games so I went looking around to all the manufactures and when I came to HP site I seen the one that I could afford, all others that I configured went to well over 3,500.00 I configured, I got almost the same exact specs for 1,600.00 and I got to say this machine is fast ,it runs anything I throw at it,the games these days are very demanding ,the graphics are stunning on this monitor I added to it from Hp the 23xi monitor, I got it with win 8.1 and I love it,,I was a bit weary about win 8.1 and was going to go for win 7 but when I tried to configure it with win 7 it wouldn't let me add extra hd's and I always like to have extra hd's in my systems so I went with win 8.1,got the 128g ssd as main drive and two 2x2 tb drives for my programs and video files, and I got 2 op dvd rw drives,1 of em is the blue ray player ,I played some dvd movies I had sitting around the house just to see if it would play em,,it just fired them right up ,it's beautiful,,I'm so glad I did,HP already did the update before I got the machine so you will get 8.1.1,it has a beautiful start menu, sometimes I go to the metro screen and look at all the news going on,it has media player and cyberlink suite software that can handle anything you want to do,I don't know why people on the web would put 8.1 down yet,you don't need any 3rd party software for a desktop. The box looks great with the red lights in the case,it's amazingly quiet I can't hear a thing from this box,I put my ear on the case just to see if I can hear anything ,,nothing!runs cool according to speccy program ,she has plenty usb ports I have 8 of em plus card readers, I got the 3 yr on site warranty with it,1st thing I did was create my restore disk media ,also usb drive disk,HP even called me up to see if I was happy with it,I go to the support forums to ask few questions and I get a quick response there and are really experienced at what they do ,excellent support..I'm really happy with it,I did the right thing...Thanks HP!!!
