You'll get the most coverage and value if you buy this plan when you purchase your PC. For example: • If you buy the 2-year plan when you purchase your PC, you'll get coverage for 2 full years. • If you buy the 2-year plan 3 months after you purchase your PC, you'll get 21 months of coverage only. Features

On-site hardware repair

  • On-site repair after remote diagnosis of the problem by a highly trained technical advisory: The on-site repair process includes remote diagnosis, which may result in sending the customer an easy-to-replace part, scheduling a visit to the customer’s home or office– with the technician arriving within 3 business days of logging the call with HP and determining that an on-site visit is required– or, in rare instances, sending the customer’s PC to an HP-authorized repair site. On-site visits are available 8am-8pm local time, Monday-Saturday, excluding holidays.
  • Regardless of the Customer's coverage window, problems with covered hardware can be reported to the HP Response Center via telephone or electronically, as locally available, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. HP will acknowledge the receipt of the service request and notify the local office at the next coverage window. HP retains the right to determine the final resolution of all reported problems.
  • Onsite response times or call-to-repair times, as applicable, for service requests submitted electronically or outside of the coverage window may vary.

Onsite response time for hardware support

  • Onsite response time specifies the period of time that begins when the initial service request is received and logged with HP and ends when the HP authorized representative arrives at the Customer's site within the coverage window. Response times are measured during the coverage window only and may be carried over to the next day for which there exists a coverage window.
  • Response time options available for eligible products are specified in the service-level options table. All response times are subject to local availability. Contact a local HP sales office for detailed information on service availability.

Work to completion

  • Once an HP authorized representative arrives at the Customer's site, the representative will continue to deliver the service, either onsite or remotely, at the discretion of HP, until the products are operational or as long as reasonable progress is being made. Work may be temporarily suspended if additional parts or resources are required, but work will resume when they become available.
  • Work to completion may not apply to onsite support provided for desktop, mobile, and consumer products.

Escalation management

  • HP has established formal escalation procedures to facilitate complex problem resolution. Local HP management coordinates problem escalation, enlisting the skills of appropriate HP resources and/or selected third parties to assist with problem-solving.

Customer ratings and reviews for HP 2 year 3-day Onsite Response for 1-year warranty HP/Compaq and Pavilion Desktop

Rated 1 out of 5 by Unable to register computer Seial number not accessible to me. July 7, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Caveat emptor---BUYER BEWARE If you purchase an extended warranty the first year coincides with the warranty on the product; thus you pay for one unnecessary year effectively doubling the cost of the warranty. Since this is not a standard business practice, BUYER BEWARE. June 12, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great coverage to have after warranty expires. I had a similar HP onsite service support package for my old computer. Both the phone tech support and the onsite service was great. May 29, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent if/when you need help All equipment regarding my computer is HP. Always has been. I have never had any problem with HP. Knowing that HP is there to help if I need them is a relief, especially for someone like myself who knows how to use the keyboard but not much more. If HP lives up to what is offered in their 2 year support pack (I've never doubted anything in the past) this is a truely a remarkable help for a very low price. THANK YOU HP. May 19, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible sales pitch, get only one year not two When HP notified me that my Warranty was about to expire via email, I decided to buy some extendended support, knowing that all-in-one destops weren't very durable. Signed up for "2-year HP House Calll Desktop" for $87.59 (incl tax). After returning my resgistration card, got email back saying my service started on the date I purchased the machine and my extended service would end on May 20, 2013. This is not my idea of 2-year support since the first year is actually in the past and was automatically covered by the manufacturer's 1 year warranty anyway! I am contacting HP Sales and repeating this issue in hopes of getting the service extended to 2014 or a 50% refund. (By the way, I like the machine and plan to keep the "extended warranty". It's the advertising and/or price which I object to). May 11, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by "Extended" Warranty is a one year warranty I bought the so called 2 year Care pack Extended Warranty after I received an email from them informing me that my one year factory warranty was about to expire. A week after I purchased and registered the warranty I find the expiration date of the "extended" warranty is only one year from the date of purchase. The tech support person said the warranty began on the day of the purchase of the computer and not of the warranty. I asked how could that be considered 2 years when parts and labor in the first year was already covered by the manufacturers warranty?. All I got was some gibberish about how that is always how extended warranties are. I was really happy with my HP machine and was planning to replace another unit in the home in February but it won't be with HP because they have destoyed my trust in them. They advertised a product that was supposed to last 2 years but in reality it is only a one year product.
