Should you need assistance with your PC, you’ll get the premiere support you deserve. You’ll set up your PC with ease, thanks to 3-months of “how to” phone support from HP SmartFriend – a bonus when you purchase this Premium Care Pack on the same receipt as your PC. Expert HP technicians will assist you with data migration and backup, network configuration, setting up a wired or wireless network, connecting printers, monitors and other peripherals, and other items not covered under your standard warranty. Extended coverage begins the day you buy your HP PC. You'll get the most coverage and value if you buy this plan when you purchase your PC. For example: • If you buy the 2-year plan when you purchase your PC, you'll get coverage for 2 full years and bonus HP SmartFriend phone support • If you buy the 2-year plan 3 months after you purchase your PC, you'll get 21 months of coverage only


• Priority queue

  • Front-of-the-queue access to HP's North America-based technical support is available 6 a.m. to midnight MST, Monday-Saturday.
  • An onsite response time will not apply if the service can be delivered using remote diagnosis, remote support, or other service delivery methods described above.

  • Backup, recovery and support of the operating system, other software, and data
  • Operational testing of applications, or additional tests requested or required by the Customer

  • Bonus 3-month how to" software, hardware and networking phone support from HP SmartFriend when HP Premium Care Pack Service is purchased on same receipt as PC
  • Data loss or corruption; business interruptions; obsolescence; cosmetic damage; rust; change in color, texture, or finish; wear and tear; gradual deterioration Error in product design, construction, programming, or instructions
  • Fraud, theft, unexplained or mysterious disappearance, misuse, abuse, or willful act
  • Alteration or modification of the product in any way
  • For HP business notebook products, major parts replacement is limited to three major parts per product per 12-month period commencing from the Care Pack start date; for all other products, major parts replacement is limited to one major part per product per 12-month period commencing from the Care Pack start date.
  • For accidental damage protection coverage, major parts include but are not limited to the screen (LCD), DVD/CD-ROM drive, motherboard, processor, hard disk drive, and memory. Once the specified limit is reached, the cost of repair for a major part will be charged on a time-and-materials basis.
  • Limitations to the defective media retention service feature option The defective media retention service feature option applies only to Disk Drives replaced by HP due to malfunction. It does not apply to any exchange of disk drives that have not failed.

• On-site hardware repair

  • On-site repair after remote diagnosis of the problem by highly trained technical advisors The on-site repair process includes remote diagnosis, which may result in sending the customer an easy-to-replace part, scheduling a visit to the customer's home or office- with the technician arriving within 3 business days of logging the call with HP and determining that an on-site visit is required- or, in rare instances, sending the customer's PC to an HP-authorized repair site. On-site visits are available 8am-8pm local time, Monday-Saturday, excluding holidays.

• 24x7 remote support

  • Expert 24x7 toll-free phone, real-time chat and e-mail technical assistance that includes PC setup, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of spyware and virus issues

• Replacement parts and materials

  • Coverage for hardware parts, labor and shipping
  • HP will provide HP-supported parts and materials necessary to maintain the covered hardware product in operating condition, including parts and materials for available and recommended engineering improvements. Replacement parts are new or functionally equivalent to new in performance. Replaced parts become the property of HP.
  • The coverage window specifies the time during which the described services are delivered onsite or remotely.
  • Service requests received outside this coverage window will be logged the next day for which the Customer has a service coverage window.
  • Coverage window options available for eligible products are specified in the service-level options table.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 5 stars for the product 0 stars for registration Although I like the comfort of having the care pack and I usually purchase them. Filling out the registration was a real pain. I tried online and I kept getting an error for something I have no control over. I finally gave up and filled out the card by hand and sent it in. I was not about to call and start putting all of that data in by hand over the phone. I give the care pack 5 stars and the registration 0 stars. September 25, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by So far so good, just activated the product Just activated this product thru the online activation feature. The only problem I have is that the "default" start date of coverage is the "production" date of my HP HPE workstation, which technically is not the PURCHASE date. The production date was MAY 2012 and I purchased my workstation at the end of AUG 2012. Am in the process of addressing this with HP. Also I noticed that CONFIRMATION of your registration does not give you the FULL 3 years of coverage it supposedly comes with! September 6, 2012

The only thing that might make it better would have been touch screen option and more memory. I would have bought the HP Z1 but I knew it did not have the touch screen a cost even more for the same configuration. Job well done! July 21, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by MY DREAM MACHINE! I researched and compared this Pavillion for 4 weeks before making the purchase. I saved my money to get the best I could afford, knowing it had to last at least 8 years. I upgraded everything I could. Maxed out the ram, upgraded processor and power supply. This machine screams: "LET ME GO!" online even the techs comment this is an awesome machine. Just for ease of installation and set up, I purchased the premium Care Pack. I have all the priority support I can imagine for the first 3 months, plus a lot more warranty. It has already paid for itself. It eliminated a lot of frustration after I created a couple problems installing products. lol my fault for a lot of it. It's really topped off with two wireless keyboards and mouse. One for my bedroom tv and the other for my desk. That was a good idea. All in all, I feel confident this machine will be of major value, even in 10 years. I liked the tracking feature for shipping too. I was so excited, I monitored every step of delivery. Even when the driver drove right by my house to Memphis to ship it back to my home. :-) That made me sad. Anyway, if you do not want to do all the research take my recommendation: Buy the Best and Forget the Rest. Get what you need and then upgrade it to the max. You will never regret that type of buying decision. Quality is everything. April 6, 2012
