I Bought this along with a new high performance Envy Desktop...First off, the HDMI unit won't fit next to the Monitor plug without an adapter to move one of the plugs apart from the other. The plugs on the output board are too close to each other. Setup was easy the first day, I had a connector to move the HDMI unit.Something Home Depot added to one of their HDMI cables box sets..
The next day, NOTHING. Spent an hour + plugging and unplugging each unit in to get them to even light up. finally got them working, connected to each other very fast... The units are only 10 feet apart right now..Now however ,no sound.. for some reason the second day, the Envy decides to only output to the speakers, OR the HDMI, not both. so you have to go into setup and select which ONE is active... The computer won't output to the HDMI unless you change your setup every time. I found no other way to get it to work. Maybe all the plugging in confused the setup.
.Now the third day, blue HDMI light flashes 3 times and goes out.. TV unit is just plain dead ,no lights again. Not worth spending an hour AGAIN.
.I expected a little more from a new computer and a HP add on...I'll call support after the holidays, but I see little they can do if the units won't even power up in the first place, every time they're plugged in..

Rated 2 out of 5Â by VEENIX SPLIT SCREEN FAIL
so, I've been searching online, looking to find a way to make my TV into an external screen, only problem with HP TouchSmart 320 PC's is that there's no VGA output, and I'd also have to purchase lots of gizmos and gadgets and wires...I think HP planned it out well as to where you actually had to purchase another device to make that happen...problem with that device, is that it does not perform the same way a VGA cable would, meaning that it will only show what's on the current screen and you can't use split display...FAIL!!!...does anyone know what I can do to resolve my problem?

Rated 4 out of 5Â by MJBone easy install
It is basically pnp (plug and play)
It took me a couple of tries to determine which of the connections was best for my home theather system. ( I have a switch box with 4 inputs or an additional HDMI input on the tv) Found the switch box wasn't best conection, but it is a cheapy??? Once I hocked it up directly to the tv it ROCKED.
Maybe a slight delay, but you won't recognize it unless you can see both screens simotaniously.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by AlanTX Great picture and sound
My only complaint is that the difference between the aspect ratio of my Laptop and My Full HD TV are not the same so the full display from my laptop overflows when displayed on the TV. This is only a problem when viewing the desktop, as an application is can be displayed in a smaller window. Going from a 14â screen to a 55â TV the picture is still very sharp. What I like most is the sound is also transmitted with the display. I like using iTunes and not only can the app be displayed but you can also hear great digital sound.

Once the product is up and running it is pretty darn good. My screen is duplicated EXACTLY on our HD television. When I received the device and plugged it into my (Pavilion dv7) laptop and our (Sony Bravia) television - in separate rooms - it worked perfectly. Three days later the laptop component would not power up; I called HP support and the tech told me "HP does not support this device". I disagreed and a second tech had me update my BIOS, that solved the problem. The laptop component, disconcertingly, does not power up immediately when plugged in. It appears that my laptop (W7) has to "think about it for a while" but eventually it does work (approx. 30 second delay). The other (relatively minor) issue is the audio: although the video appears simultaneously on both my PC and the TV the audio originates ONLY from the TV. Otherwise this is a great gadget. We use it for NetFlix. I have not; yet, tried it with my karaoke application (which uses the 'secondary' screen to display the lyrics),
